Event Details

Overview

The United States UTR Pro Match Series will showcase top world ranked Men’s and Women’s professional tennis players as they perform at the highest level in a safe and player friendly environment. The events throughout the series will be played privately with no spectators or public access. The events will consist of one-on-one match-play and a single chair umpire. While the events will be performed in a very private format, the action will be broadcast for the world to watch live as it occurs. Each event will be submitted and reviewed by the Tennis Integrity Unit (TIU) to ensure strict compliance.

Tournament Format

UTR Women’s Pro Match Series (East + West)

Each day of the series is considered one event. Each event will consist of eight (8) to twelve (12) players, playing two (2) matches per event, for a total of eight (8) matches played. The player who wins the most matches per day, will be the event champion. If there is a tie, then the player who lost the least amount of games is the winner.

UTR Men’s Pro Match Series (East + West)

Every three (3) days of the series is considered one event. Each event will consist of eight (8) players, playing one (1) match per day, for a total of four (4) matches played per day. There is a 3 day tournament bracket, the winner of the bracket is the event champion.

Scoring

First player to win two (2) out of three (3) sets wins the match. Sets are up to 6 games with ad scoring. Third set is a “Match Tie-Breaker” set to ten (10) points.

Schedule

Daily event match ups are selected via drawing. The first match of each East Coast event will begin between 8:00am ET - 10:30am ET weather permitting. The first match of the West Coast events will begin at 9am PT. The following matches will begin after the proceeding match is finished. At the tournament directors discretion, the matches for the day may be played simultaneously across two (2) to three (3) courts.

Officials

Each match will be officiated by a chair umpire. To accommodate social distancing guidelines and ensuring all participants safety there will be no line judges. Players will call their own lines. Any disputes will be resolved by the chair umpires decision.
